What a lovely little peice! Great price for what you get here. CIGA have added a great variant to their “X” framed series by incorporating clever use of lume and a fantastic rotating “pyramid” for the seconds hand. The effect is to see the heart of the watch glowing in a rolling “Kryptonite” green as the lume reflects off the underside of the hands and central rotating triangle. It is very light yet reassuringly present. The case size is perfect for the theme, and the bio-ceramic case and mineral glass are not the impediments one might usually baulk at. In this case they keep the weight down and the price more than reasonable. When done properly, cost saving options make perfect sense and in this case the execution is flawless. This watch has the X series trademark of subtle case contours that act as key markers to replace the normal dial structure. This allows for a lovely open skeleton presentation that is enhanced by the exhibition case back. As per usual with CIGA, the packaging is first rate! About of fun! The only criticism perhaps is the strap on offer. If you’re OK with Matt rubber, then fine. I’m not, so an after market strap has been added which has made this even more comfortable to wear.
In summary, a fun and inexpensive in house bespoke automatic with an elegantly themed ancient middle eastern skeleton vibe in a great open and spacious case that draws the eye to the detail within. The second “hand” is a brilliant touch. CIGA have taken the already quite superb X series theme and given it a touch of the old gods, and it works! Top marks!
